It is that time of year when Schools throw their big PTA Ball, and on this occasion DJ Greg and his crew were delighted to be playing at Berkhamsted Girls School. Yet again, a nice local gig!
As marquees go, this was a real big tent, huge stage and a massive turn out. The weather (for once) was on side, and it really made the carnival themed evening a true success. A new crewmember was thrown in the deep end, as constructing a huge light show and a big pa system.
At the end of the night, several guests did mention that it was like being at a concert – It was an amazing night. DJ Greg interacted with the audience, and had them on their feet dancing in no time at all. As a Party DJ, or even a Dance DJ, it is always nice for the crowd to get involved and be a part of the performance. A good audience is like having an extra member on stage – to encourage the audience! Thank you so much for booking DJ Greg and we hope to see you again for your next PTA Ball.
Getting married in the UK can be a bit of a gamble when it comes to the weather – very unpredictable. On this occasion, the sun was shining and the wedding guests were enjoying the atmosphere of being outside before entering the hall. You can’t beat a fizzy reception out on the lawns! Hatfield House is a lovely venue, and the grounds and gardens are just amazing. Having a professional disco does take up quite a bit of space, however the size of the equipment and set up can be discussed to suit.
It was a real pleasure to be gigging at Hatfield House, and it was great fun to see so many friendly faces enjoying a perfect atmosphere. On the plus side, DJ Greg is located in Hemel Hempstead, Herts, and travelling to Hatfield House only takes 25 minutes. A great day, a great wedding, a great venue, and a great location.
This event saw DJ Greg travel down to Hampshire, to a remote little village called Ecchinswell.
Rain isn’t really popular on the best of days, but when you are performing in a Marquee, it’s not popular at all!
After a wet get in, and a damp set up, the sound check took place. DJ Greg does adore working in Marquees, as the natural room acoustics are lovely. You can also use a Haze machine to enhance the lighting. The sound was excellent, and the room truly did look superb.
DJ Greg was working for a brand new Event Company on this occasion, and we all made friends and got to know each other rather quickly. The lighting set up that the AV company was dynamic, and the hospitality they showed towards Greg and his crew was lovely. The party and performance was aimed at a Joint 50th Birthday Party for Mum & Dad, and their sons 18th. DJ Greg was asked to dress ‘Quirky’ compared to his normal stage costume, and to also throw a little bit of ‘Rock’ in to the look. As you can imagine, a lot of fun back stage!
Having to entertain two age groups simultaneously is not a problem for DJ Greg as he can pick songs (old and new) and segue them into one another. Many happy faces and a ‘Blinding Party’!
As DJ Greg guarantees his clients with a highly professional service, certain obstacles become a pleasure to deal with. DJ Greg was booked to perform and entertain at a Wedding in Chesham, Herts. A seven-piece band was also requested along with DJ Greg, to gig in the corner of a very small banqueting venue for 90 guests.
Having a successful reputation, DJ Greg can adapt to anything. Normally, the stage set up is quite big, as DJ Greg does insist on giving good value for money with a terrific light show and a superb sound system. However, one thing learnt over the years is to never underestimate a venue, and always arrive ‘Over Prepared’. On this occasion, DJ Greg adapted to the surroundings by using alternative equipment to entertain in an area no bigger than a Ford Transit Van.
The clients was delighted that DJ Greg fulfilled their expectations, and the entire evening was a remarkable success. DJ Greg and WICKED Productions always try to carry three different types of PA, numerous amounts of Dance Floor and stage lighting, to meet any expectations that our clients desire.
Less than 48 hours ago, DJ Greg was down in Brimpton, Reading, performing for a family event. No particular reason, just a good old-fashioned party with family members and close friends. What a raucous party it was indeed.
DJ Greg has been very good friends of the family, and for the last 6 years he has performed at their family events.
Held in the beautiful grounds, inside a marquee, DJ Greg performed to a small crowd of 120 people. The atmosphere was amazing and it was more like performing at an outdoor rock concert. Presuming several bottles of Champagne were consumed by all, the dance floor was packed all night, and DJ Greg continued with the music into the early hours of Sunday morning. Booked back immediately, he can’t wait to perform and entertain this wonderful family again.
A fantastic event and great fun.
Over the years, DJ Greg has probably done all the possible events imaginable.
From all Corporate Events, to Weddings, Anniversary’s, Birthday’s, Funerals, Winter Wonderlands, Beach Parties, Festivals and many, many more. If an event doesn’t match the criteria of a Corporate Event, then it can only ever be a Private Party.
On recent travels, DJ Greg performed at Harrow Rugby Club, to help celebrate the clubs, 125th Anniversary. Obviously having a huge pitch, the event was held in a lovely marquee (Got to love a marquee). The natural room acoustics of a tent are completely awesome, and it sounds incredible. All the sound produced is absorbed into the material. Not only the marquee material itself, but also the carpets, inner linings, star cloths, and the wooden stage.
You can even use a Haze Machine, which drastically increases the atmosphere and really makes it one big party.
The 125th Anniversary of Harrow Rugby Club went down in history as the best party ever on the clubs grounds.
DJ Greg and his band Mixed Feelings have already been told, that the next event being held, will almost certainly involve himself and the band.
Today’s wedding took DJ Greg all the way down to Essex, to The Downhall Hotel. DJ Greg is very experienced in the Wedding Industry, and what a perfect example of a smooth running event it was. A pleasant surprise to find out it was a half and half wedding, and it was a lot of fun. DJ Greg always likes and often insists to get to the venue nice and early, to have a good set up, sound check, and a little run through of new songs. That’s why getting to a venue early is a great opportunity.
The evening started off with the opening dance for the Bride & Groom, which was, Etta James – ‘At Last’ and then straight in to the party music. A fantastic night, and a very happy couple. Not forgetting the traditional Jewish music and of course, The Proclaimers!
One job DJ Greg does get to do each year, is a cracking and cosy affair up in Birmingham for a group of Solicitors, who really enjoy themselves at the festive time of year.
A change of venue for their 2016 Christmas Bash at a very nice and modern looking Hotel in the city center.
For the last 4 years now, DJ Greg has entertained this group, and it just keeps getting better. After a very long and gruelling challenge up the M1 with severe delays, DJ Greg and the crew finally got there to unload all the equipment.
The loading bay was already occupied by another two commercial vehicles, which were also setting up for different Christmas Party’s. (There was a lot going on)
With stress levels rising, the disco was eventually set, and even time to sit down and take a breather before going on to perform was acceptable. Christmas tunes were played through the sit down dinner, and then it was over to the DJ to start this raucous party.
The Dance Floor was packed all night long and the clients thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
What made this event even better was 48 hours later DJ Greg received an email, booking the band for 2017.
We look forward to it.
Travelling the UK is always fun. It’s always nice to go to new places, meet new people and make new friends. On a recent adventure, DJ Greg landed a gig in Norwich, Norfolk. A very young couple celebrating their wedding day, went via an agency wanting a Top London DJ, and boy, was it a party!
DJ Greg and his crew got there nice and early, to set up in a fantastic marquee on the grounds of Smallburgh Hall. A nice set was created and a fantastic look indeed. The marquee looked amazing and DJ Greg took to the stage to perform a vibrant show. A very successful party with lots of happy people enjoying themselves, and dancing through to the early hours. Of course, the journey home after can be a challenge. Being a professional, and travelling the UK is all a part of the job. There is nothing DJ Greg is not used to. However, getting home as the sun is rising and the birds are singing can have some minor affects on your body clock. But that is called ‘Life On The Road’ and he loves the challenge.
Apart from Corporate Events, Weddings, Jewish Events, Charity Ball’s and Anniversary’s, DJ Greg does excel in giving a good Birthday Party. With a Birthday Party, the client can get to choose certain music or songs to suit the mood or the theme. (Just like any other gig)
This Birthday Party saw DJ Greg perform at The Wentworth Club, Virginia Waters, where Mr Rose was celebrating his 60th.
DJ Greg would like to think that he was recommended to Mr Rose for his solid reputation of mixed music, and can turn his hand to anything thrown at him. A complete blend of 60’s and 70’s music to start off the night, saw the party in to full swing.
The venue was amazing, with high ceilings and so many different levels. The production laid on was outstanding, with a Moulin Rouge atmosphere, a 4 tier stage and fantastic effect lights. As the evening went on, the music was still changing genres, and a packed dance floor continued into the night.
A fun party, great atmosphere, and a wonderful audience.
